Happy New Year!!! It’s no secret that books and I get along like chocolate and peanut butter (YUM). So, this year, the first Tuesday of every month I’ll give you a little peek into the books on my nightstand; what I’m loving and what I’m not digging.
Who Moved My Cheese I listened to this short one hour read while driving and hot dang! It kicked me in the butt in the best way possible! It had me talking to myself in the car and yelling amen like I was up in chu-ach! It’s filled with fab take-aways, like: When you move beyond fear you feel free. See why I was hoopin' and hollering??? It left the wheels in my head turning, and this one definitely makes it to the top of my all time favorite books. It is told in parable form and the takeaways apply to all areas of life. A perfect read for the first of the year!
Gone Girl. I was hesitant to start this book, because while I like a good psychological thriller, I can’t go too dark and twisted. Unfortunatley my gut was right. It was too dark for me. I think the whole world loved it and I may be the lone holdout who isn’t a fan, but yeah, didn’t happen.
Diary of a Single Wedding Planner And now for some fluff :) I am unashamedly a consumer of chick lit. When life is less than rainbows and unicorns, a lighthearted beach-y read is a wonderful escape for me! I downloaded this on a whim because it was free on Kindle; and duh weddings! It surprised me! I found myself laughing out loud in public at some of the behind the scenes wedding craziness the young 25 year old protagonist experiences. The book had it’s predictable moments, but was overall quite an enjoyable diversion with a little bit of food for thought.
Do you have any books that need to make it to my 2016 reading list?? Do share!
