When Nosa of Elegant Nuptials and Events asked if I would be interested in photographing an event at the Arlington Sheraton Hotel's Plaza on the Hill I was thrilled! Tucked away near the Ranger's Ballpark in the entertainment district, I personally think this venue is one of Arlington's hidden gems.
The Nigerian Ladies Association of Texas, recently held their Health Fair and Fundraising banquet. Nosa and her team were on hand to ensure a smooth and successful evening.
The first of two dance groups entertained guests by dancing to traditional Nigerian songs.
Aren't these girls the cutest?? I loved the combo of colorful dashikis with floral crowns.
It's not a real banquet without good eats, and this stewed beef alongside other cultural staples like moi moi, do do, and porridge graced the plates of all in attendance.
Mrs. Kim Olusanya, president of the NLAT was gorgeous in her white native attire and bright blue gele.
If you know me, then you know I'm all for squeezing in time for couple photos, and of course I had to get the host and hostess in front of the camera.
It's so fun seeing familiar faces! You might recognize this lovely lady from my very first styled shoot :)
The second dance team was just as lovely and energetic as the first.
Dr. Olusanya gave a wonderful presentation filled with knowledge and humor.
Generous donations were made for several worthy projects both in the United States and Nigeria.
After a quick group photo, the ladies and their guests hit the dance floor and ended the evening dancing under the beautiful strands of twinkling lights overhead.
Now, let me show you why the Plaza on the Hill is one of my favorite venues in Arlington. Check out the gorgeous view of the building at night!
The floor to ceiling glass windows positively glow with all the light spilling out. This makes a perfect contrast for the beautiful blue pool of water surrounding the building.
