Alright it's confession time again. And please tell me I'm not alone in this. I have a file, and an actual little black book where I keep/record/collect all the cool ideas I see at weddings. From favors, to DIY projects, to table decor, I collect them all.
I was content to keep my notes private, but I thought that this blog might be the perfect place to share it all. After all, most people know someone about to get married soon, or are perhaps even planning a wedding themselves. So why be selfish and keep all the good ideas to myself? Soooo, I'm starting a new blog feature. From time to time, I'll post snippets of things I come across at weddings that I love and am adding to My Wedding Dream Book.
Last Spring I photographed Robi and Steven's surprise wedding. Their closest friends were invited to lunch and when they arrived they saw Robi in a wedding dress! A month later they held their reception at the Frisco Heritage Museum. Here are a few photos that capture the essence of their wedding & reception.
My favorite thing about their wedding was their idea for a guest book, which Robi said she got off Martha Stewart. Instead of a traditional guest book she had a sign in tree where people were encouraged to "leaf" their thumbprint. Robi had the tree printed on canvas by a friend.
Inks in different shades of green were available and the thumbprints made up the leaves on the tree. She was also smart enough to have wipes for people to use to clean the ink off their fingers.
Isn't that just the coolest idea ever?? I love it because a) it's non-tradtional and b) it's a piece of art you can later display in your home as a daily reminder of your wedding day! Definitely a Dream Book worthy idea!
